Men’s Ministry

Men’s Ministry seeks to share the Spirit of Jesus through fellowship, spirituality and mission.

We encourage all men of our church to become involved in and support the ministries and missions of the church. Guests are always welcome to Men’s Ministry activities.

 

Special Opportunities to Engage & Serve (Sept 2018 – May 2019)

On the 3rd Saturday of each month, 7:30am Hot Breakfast in Fellowship Hall (on the lower floor) followed by an educational, missional program, ended with prayer in a circle. You may want to come a half hour early (7:00am) for fellowship. Sat, Sept 15.  7:30am Men’s Fellowship Breakfast with a report on our Church Mission Program, featuring Appalachia Service Project, Habitat for Humanity, Ghana Library Project and more. 

Sat, Sept 29.  Golf Outing (at Mee-Kwon in Mequon). 10am with a scramble format and a late lunch and fellowship gathering in the club house after the golfing.

Sat, Oct 20.  7:30am Men’s Fellowship Breakfast, followed by a mission engagement with Habitat for Humanity in the city.

Sat, Nov 17.  7:30am Men’s Fellowship Breakfast, with participants of the Pilgrimage for Peace to Korea. 

Sun, Dec 9.  Stage Construction for 2018 Christmas Program, after the 10:30 service.

Sat, Jan 19.  Mission At Home. 8:30am – 3pm with Continental Breakfast and Lunch. Help repair and fix up the church.  

Sat, Feb 2.  No Regrets Conference for Men. At Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, www.noregretsconference.org 

Sat, Feb 16.  7:30am Men’s Fellowship Breakfast, with a program on addiction to pornography.

Sat, Mar 16.  7:30am Men’s Fellowship Breakfast, with a program on Buddhism.

Week of April 6-13.  Church Rummage Sale. Men’s Ministry is a co-sponsor of the mission program.

  • Sat/Sun, April 6/7:  Set up and assist to drop off and pick up
  • Mon-Wed, April 8-10:  Drop off and arrange sale items
  • Thur-Sat, April 11-13: Help with sale and clean-up

Sat, May 18.  7:30am Men’s Fellowship Breakfast, followed by power wash cleaning of the fellowship hall chairs.

In May, 2019 (Date to be decided).  Support UMW Fashion Show and Meal – serving as waiters!

First Friday Breakfast is a fellowship group for men which meets monthly at a local restaurant. No speakers or topics; just enjoy each other’s company and fellowship together.

The Gray Guys, mostly retired men from our congregation, meet on the last Tuesday morning of the month for smaller repair and maintenance of the church and grounds.

Schedule

September 15.  A report by UMCWFB Mission Team on the church mission programs with Appalachia Service Project participants talking about their experiences and with a representative from Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity.

After the program, we will go to the Habitat “Rock The Block” on the 29th Street where our youth will join us to so some fixing up of the new houses and properties that have been under construction this summer by Habitat.

October 20.  After the breakfast at the church, a mission engagement with Habitat for Humanity on the 29th street. 

November 17.  Pastor Peace and other participants of the Pilgrimage for Peace to Korea will tell about their experiences in South Korea.

December. No 3rd Saturday Breakfast Gathering. Instead, Men’s Ministry helps with the church Christmas Music Program

January 19, 2019.  Mission At Home, with church members of most all ages, begins at 8:30am with Continental Breakfast and continues through 3pm to help repair and fix up the church. Lunch is also provided.

February 16.  An educational program on addiction to pornography – problems and solutions.

March 16.  A dialogue with a Buddhist to learn about the religion of Buddhism.

April. No 3rd Saturday Breakfast Gathering. Instead, Men’s Ministry co-sponsors the Church Rummage Sale in the week of April 6-13. 

May 18.  After breakfast inside, clean the fellowship hall chairs outside, in coordination with the members of FaithWorks.

Good coffee opens each gathering followed by scripture, reading, and discussion.

All are welcome.  No advance preparation is needed.  No homework is assigned.
